Even though some of us might be moving on to another handheld, we are always happy for a reason to turn on the PS Vita. This week, we have another RPG with an overly long name, but it is specifically released for our neglected Sony portable.
Aetelier Shallie Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is the rerelease of the “non-plus” version from the PS3, and it has some new features. The game will come with new costumes, a new message log, and all the DLC from the original release. If you purchase it in the first month, you will receive five additional costumes, including the Administrator Suit, the Cosmo Fighter Costume, and the Hero Girl Costume. You will also receive a free download of some tracks from previous Atelier games.
The game is the last in the Dusk saga, and it features the Synthesis item creation system, new boss battles, and a control scheme built for the Vita. With so few opportunities to play larger games, this may be just the reason the remaining Vita fans need to recharge the battery and play through a new adventure.
The launch trailer has that alluring blend of J-pop and anime characters that can pull in North American players immediately, but Europe and the UK will have to wait until the 20th for the release.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
