Monster Hunter World has a big expansion coming in a few months, and you can try it for free. The first beta for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will start June 21st at 3am PDT/11pm BST and it will run through June 24th until 3am PDT/11pm BST. If you miss this first beta, a second one starts on June 28th and ends July 1st. The beta is available to preload now, so you can start playing as soon as it opens.
The beta will introduce the fresh and frosty content included in Iceborne and the new location, Hoarfrost Reach. There will also be three quests increasing in difficulty to challenge new and old hunters alike. Hunting the Great Jagras is perfect for a new hunter looking to prove themselves, stepping up to the wyvern Banbaro will be a medium level monster, and Tigrex will be the hardest.
Since variety is the spice of taking monster lives, all fourteen weapons will be available in the beta. The new slinger tool Clutcher Claw grappler will also be part of the demo, and any of the weapons and mechanics will be available in any of the missions. When you complete any of the three missions in the demo, you can earn items that can be used in the full version of the game.
There is no fee or pre-order needed to join the beta, but you will need a PS Plus membership. Whether you are a veteran or just a greenhorn hunter looking to gather loot and become a legend, the beta will give you a good look at the future of Monster Hunter World.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
