Control was a game that surprised a few of us, what with its intriguing premise and beguiling world. So, luckily for us, we’re going to be able to ponder its mystery a little longer as the team behind the title have unveiled details about its first DLC.
But we’ll have to wait until March to experience its phenomena once again.
The news broke at this year’s The Game Awards, which was the stage for a number of announcements. We were even lucky enough to find out about its content – a story arc that sounds like it will fill in some backstory on the Oldest House and the Bureau to whom we must answer.
It’s described as:
“The Foundation will delve into the history of the Oldest House. At the request of the ever-mysterious Board, Jesse must explore what lies beneath the Bureau as she returns order to the Foundation and the Oldest House itself. Expect things to get weird.”
In a way, it sounds a bit like a sequel, acting as a prequel, packaged as an additional chapter or two. But I’m sure it’ll prove beefier than it sounds. Let’s just hope, though, it doesn’t leave us wishing it were the backbone to Control 2. Sometimes these smaller content drops feel like they’re missing something. And what they’re missing is 90% more content to make them a full release in their own right.
In the meantime, there’s a new update waiting for you over at your console, which is both free and available now. Expeditions, as it is called, will add new end game content to Control. And will, apparently, push your abilities to the max. Here’s hoping, eh?
Are you in(to) Control? Or would a game called Derailed suit you better?
It’s Expeditions launch day!
