In a bit of cross-promotion, WARDEN from the game For Honor will be available as DLC in Samurai Showdown tomorrow. The medieval knight will take on the code of bushido with some chivalry of his own. Having a giant sword doesn’t hurt either. The announcement trailer shows WARDEN in action. They stylized the character to fit neatly into the game’s aesthetic.
Ubisoft dropped a trailer (at bottom) to celebrate this union as well. You can check that out, but, in a statement from For Honor’s director, Nicholas Bombray mentioned that he was very excited to see the collaboration between the two companies. He said:
“We are very excited and proud to see our knight, the WARDEN, join SNK’s SAMURAI SHODOWN as a DLC character. It’s an honor to be part of such a renown [sic] franchise that has existed for decades.”
If you’ve been looking for a new fighter in Samurai Showdown or you are a fan of For Honor, you can check out the WARDEN DLC on June 24th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
