Fortnite V-Bucks Are Now 20% Cheaper On PlayStation

Did you hear that? That was the sound of your wallet giving out a sigh of relief. That’s because those pesky V-Bucks in Fortnite are now 20% cheaper than they were. And the items won’t be inflated to make up the difference. But who thought gaming could be this fair?!?

This news will probably come as a relief to any of you with a Fortnite obsessive in the family. And I’m guessing there’s quite a few, going on the level of merchandise and valuations doing the rounds. But now you can buy 1,000 V-Bucks for just $7.99 over on the PlayStation Store – a difference that should be noticeable when it comes to your bank statement. There is more good news, however.

For anyone who has purchased the in game currency since July 14th of this year will also receive a “buck boost” to make up the difference of what they’ve lost out on – even if they didn’t actually lose out as the discount wasn’t around then. But let’s not get too technical; it’s free money after all!

A Shooting Starstaff Pickaxe will also be added to everyone’s inventory as a free gift, probably to say Epic Games appreciate you all.

Pessimistic commentators online, however, think there’s an ulterior motive to all this. And that by reducing the cost, more people will buy the larger amount of V Bucks in one transaction – spending more, and thus, earning Epic Games more at the same time. With this gaming model, though, we can’t really comment on the morality of such decisions as cosmetics are a premium both before and after. Therefore, anyone unhappy with such an arrangement, would be better served avoiding it altogether.

Easier said than done, I know. But this is the reality of 21st Century gaming.
