The dark side of the colourful world of heroes
2K, Marvel Entertainment, and Firaxis Games have announced a brand new game coming to consoles and PC next year – Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
Marvel’s Mightnight Suns will release in March 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
“We’re thrilled to team with Firaxis Games, who combine a history of building outstanding tactical games with an authentic love of Marvel’s supernatural side,” said Bill Rosemann, Vice President of Creative at Marvel Games. “Marvel’s Midnight Suns offers players the chance to not only live alongside legendary heroes, but to also experience an all-new, original story that dives deep into the monstrous shadows of the Marvel Universe. Darkness Falls. Rise Up!”
“I grew up reading and loving Marvel comics,” said Jake Solomon, Creative Director for Marvel’s Midnight Suns at Firaxis Games. “To be entrusted with these characters and their stories is an honor for me and the team. If you’re a Marvel fan, or an RPG fan, or a fan of tactics games, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will make these beloved characters come alive in a way that you’ve never seen before.”
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is coming from Firaxis Games, best know for working on the Sid Meier’s Pirates series, the Civilization games, and XCom.
The game will explore the darker side of the Marvel universe after Hydra revives Lilith, the Mother of Demons. She’s a no-gooder and she wants to summon her evil master, Chthon. The Avengers get their kit on and enlist the Midnight suns – Ghost Rider, Blade, Magik, and Nico Minorus – to help them tackle the supernatural threat. Check them out in action with the game’s cinematic trailer down below. And yes, it’s a CG trailer, but there is a gameplay reveal coming on September 1st, 2021.
