Yes, Terminator is once again doing a video game crossover, this time with Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. After Mortal Kombat 11 and Gears of War 5, Ghost Recon Breakpoint was the next logical step for Terminator, right?
The live event kicks off today on PS4, though exactly what that entails is a mystery. There’s a trailer that has been put out, but it’s mostly non-informational. Instead, the trailer spends most of its time showing us Terminators looking menacing and player characters looking surly and hard.
There’s no word on how long the event will last, though the trailer does state that Part 2 beings on February 1st, so it’s going to be a few days at least.
It’s an odd crossover and with the most recent movie being panned by critics, it’s probably not the best thing for Ubisoft’s troubled franchise. These things are planned well in advance, though, so there’s a chance that Ubisoft didn’t know the movie was going to be a stinker when they started drawing up plans for the live event.
You can play the Terminator Live Event in Ghost Recon Breakpoint from today. The update will also bring some free in-game goodies, such as weapons, cosmetics, and even a Terminator-themed vehicle. Yay…
If you want a proper Terminator game, I suggest you take a look at last year’s Terminator Resistance. It’s not perfect and it’s definitely a little rough, but it’s actually a really good game and fans will find something to like. Plus, it won’t disappear after a week or so, unlike these live events.
