505 Games and All In! Games have announced today that Ghostrunner will be getting a free upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game for those who buy the game on current-gen consoles.
So, if you buy the game digitally on PS4, you’ll automatically get the PS5 version. Likewise, with Xbox Series X|S, you’ll get the best version depending on your hardware with the Smart Delivery feature.
Ghostrunner won’t be on next-gen systems until sometime in 2021, though the current-gen launch will work on next-gen console via backwards compatibility. Ghostrunner will release on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 27th, and there are a few incentives to pre-order.
The PS5/Xbox Series X|S release date has not yet been confirmed, but the presser did say “more details to follow at a later date.” For the time being, the focus will be on the current-gen launch.
Pre-order on current-gen systems before Tuesday, Oct. 27 for limited-time discounts and exclusive swords:
- 1 special katana with all pre-orders
- 1 additional exclusive katana per store/platform
- 20% discount for PS+ pre-orders
- 20% discount for all PC pre-orders
- 10% discount for all Xbox One pre-orders
