Video game delays are as sure a thing as death and taxes but they still hurt like a mother, especically when they’re called God of War Ragnarok.
Sony’s Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, has broken the news that God of War for PS5 (God of War Ragnarok) will not be releasing this year. Instead, Kratos and his big angry nipples will be swinging chain blades and shouting “BOY! GET F^&KING LOST YOU ANNOYING LITTLE TW%T” sometimes in 2022.
As part of a wide-ranging interview posted on the PlayStation Blog, Hulst explained that the new God of War game will be coming out next year so that Santa Monica Studio can spend more time on the game.
Hulst said: “We’ve made the decision to push that game out to next year, to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.”
Disappointing? Definitely. But – and I swear I must write this at least once a month – a delayed game is better than a rushed game. Endless patches and updates are not how we want our games, are they? So it’s better the extra time is taken. Plus, we still have Horizon Forbidden West coming this year. Or do we?
