Unlike the next-gen Xbox, we haven’t even seen the PlayStation 5 yet, but we’re already talking about a PS5 game. Weird, no? Well, that’s the case, as Gearbox Publishing and Counterplay Games have announced their upcoming PS5 console exclusive at this year’s The Game Awards with an in-engine trailer.
The trailer, which you can watch up above, doesn’t show actual gameplay, but instead shows “in-engine” footage. Basically, the actual game won’t have the same visual fidelity, if previous “in-engine” trailers are anything to go by. I’d love to be wrong, though, and for the next-generation of consoles to be the one where bullshot trailers are representative of the final product.
Not much has been revealed about the game, other than it’s a looter-slasher that can be played with up to three players in co-op, or as a single-player game. No doubt, then, there’ll be a big emphasis on collecting loot and, er, slashing. According to the trailer and the game’s website, Godfall will be releasing Holiday 2020, so it’s possibly going to be a PS5 launch game.
Personally, I’m not interested, but if you’re a fan of Dark Souls-inspired games, this could be one to watch out for.
