Guide: Ghost Recon Breakpoint Open Beta Times and Dates (It’s This Week!)

Ubisoft is hosting another beta for its upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and it’s this week! If like me you’ve failed to keep up to date with the latest tactical shooter, fear not, because you’ll be able to go hands on with the Ghost Recon Breakpoint open beta later this week.
So, firstly, when does it start? The beta kicks off on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at the following times:
- UK: 11am – BST
- Europe: 12pm – CEST
- East Coast US: 6am – EDT
- West Coast US: 3am – PDT
The beta client will be available to download from September 24th, meaning you’ll have a couple of days to pre-load the necessary data onto your PS4, allowing maximum play time over the course of the beta. The beta runs from Thursday through until Monday. That’s my weekend plans sorted, then.
The open beta has a lot of stuff for players to do. You can roll solo or with a group of friends in co-op. You’ll have six regions to explore: Smuggler Coves, Mount Hodgson, Sinking Country, Fen Bog, New Argyll and Infinity.
You’ll be able to take on five main story missions and a handful of side missions, though if you just want to get a feel for the game without getting any spoilers, you’re best off avoiding these missions. Just go exploring. Shoot up some random bad guys and steal their stuff instead.
In addition to the story and side missions, the open beta will have 12 Faction missions, too. Though if you don’t care for taking on the A.I, you can go head-to-head in the game’s competitive multiplayer on four maps in Elimination mode.
It’s a meaty beta with plenty of content on offer, so if you’re looking to see what improvements have been made over Ghost Recon Wildlands, it’s well worth a look. It cost’s nothing and you’ll get to play a new game before it releases. However, if you do go ahead and buy the full game, your progress in the open beta won’t carry over. This is kind of normal though, so no big deal.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
