Today marks the day that Disney+ officially releases in the UK and Europe, and it really couldn’t have come at a better time, could it? With the world going into lockdown and more of us finding ourselves stuck within our homes for longer periods than we are used to, some extra entertainment could go a long way to keeping people in their homes during this unprecedented global crisis.
Disney+ has released today in the UK and Europe, and the official app is available now on PS4. It’s easy enough to get started and it shouldn’t cause any problems. But, just in case, we’re putting together this tiny guide to help the hapless parents who don’t know how to use the PlayBoy Machine. You’re welcome.
- First, go to the PlayStation Store on your PS4 console.
- Navigate to the ‘Apps’ section of the store.
- Browse the apps until you find ‘Disney+’ and then select it with the ‘X’ button on your controller.
- Add the app to your downloads, and you’re good to go once the app has installed.
You’ll need to create a Disney+ account before you can start watching Star Wars, Toy Story and The Avengers movies, but that’s simple enough. There’s a 7-day free trial to begin with, and you can cancel your subscription before the free trial ends if you think you’re not going to get value out of the service.
If you’re a fan of the Marvel superhero movies, or Star Wars, or X-Men, you’ll find a lot to enjoy. There’s also a lot of TV to watch, too, with 30 seasons of The Simpsons. The big draw here, however, is keeping the kids entertained while the schools are out, and for that alone, Disney+ probably presents the best value for money out of any streaming service so far.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
