The new console generation is truly around the corner. Whether you’re planning on playing on PS5 or Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you’re in for a good time. Today, though, we’re focusing on PS5 because… well, we’re Pure PlayStation, aren’t we?
The launch of a new console typically means the release of some first-party games to show off the potential of a new console. On the PS4’s release day we only had a few first-party releases, such as Knack (R.I.P) and Killzone Shadowfall. This time around on PS5, we’re getting a few more than usual, and one of them is pre-installed on every PS5 console, so you know that you’ll at least have something to play on launch day.
Here’s what first-party games will be available on PS5 launch day:
- Astro’s Playroom
- Demon’s Souls
- Destruction All Stars
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
That’s a list of six first-party games, but you should note that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition also includes a remaster of the first Marvel’s Spider-Man that originally released on PS4. What’s also worth noting is that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also be available on PS4 as well as PS5. Do we still call it a true next-gen release? You can decide on that one.
Obviously, the list up above does not represent the full launch line up for PS5 as there will be many third-party releases, like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, DIRT 5, and many more.
