Hitman 3 will include a total of three Hitman games, literally combing 1, 2 and 3 into a single bundle. But despite the collection being a cause for celebration, many gamers have winced at its potential file size. You see, Hitman 2 alone is northwards of 120GB so if you think about the trilogy as a whole, you can expect it to be at least twice that. Or can you?
Well, today we’ve received official word from the team themselves as a developer took to Resetera to put the record straight. In the message, they said that the whole thing would be only around 100GB in size due to a number of techniques that they had up their sleeves.
But don’t panic – that doesn’t mean a complete tradeoff with graphics. That’s because the two older games are still getting a facelift – somehow – so technically we’re getting a whole lot more for a whole lot less when it comes to Hitman 3.
The official post, written by ‘A Path Finder’, read:
“One thing I think all of you will be happy to hear is that we have managed to get the size of the game down significantly.
“All three games with all content will take up around 100GB.”
This will come as good news to those of you who own a PlayStation 5, with its small hard drive; it should mean you can at least have one other game installed at the same time as Hitman 3 (joke). But it does beg the question of what exactly has the team done to compress it so much – however, I guess we’ll see that for ourselves soon enough…
