Sony’s head of PlayStation Studios broke the news today that God of War Ragnarok will not be releasing this year. But at least we have Horizon Forbidden West, right? Right? RIGHT?
It feels like just minutes ago that I was writing about God of War Ragnarok being delayed into 2022, and now here I am writing about the possibility that Kratos may be in good company with Aloy. That’s because it was minutes ago and I’m milking that PlayStation Blog interview just as much as every other website.
In a lengthy interview on the PlayStation Blog, Herman Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios revealed that not only has God of War been delayed into 2022, but Horizon Forbidden West might not make its release window either.
Hulst said “we think we are on track to release this holiday season. But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.”
So right now it’s anybody’s guess. It looks like even Sony isn’t sure where its games stand. To be fair, these have been trying times for everybody, and game developers are no exception. Creating games from home isn’t an easy task – these are usually collaborative efforts where endless meetings dictate the flow of work and so on.
Fingers crossed Horizon Forbidden West does release in 2021, but don’t be surprised if Aloy slips and tumbles into 2022 along with Kratos and his nips.
