Toadman Interactive and Antimatter Games have released a teaser trailer for I.G.I Origins – a stealth, tactical shooter that’s coming to PS4 in 2021. Yes. 2021.
I.G.I Origins is actually a prequel to the original I.G.I games that released in the early 2000s. Origins will take place during an alternate 1980s Cold War with spies, gadgets, sneaking around, and of course, killing bad guys. Probably Russians. Don’t expect this one on the PlayStation Store, then.
“The teams at Toadman and Antimatter have fond memories of playing the original games back in the day,” says Robin Flodin, CEO of Toadman Interactive. “We are very happy to bring take the franchise to the next level, and it’s a perfect fit for the talented guys at Antimatter Games, a key studio in the Toadman group.”
Given that the release date is for 2021, and although the press release states that the game is in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC, it’s likely it’ll also get a PS5 release, too. In fact, I’d put money on it being released only on next-gen systems. Fiver, anyone?
