You may be looking for spooky games for this weekend, but we are starting to hear about scary games due out next year. The psychological, horror game In Sound Mind dropped a story trailer today that shows your grasp on reality is loosening. You play as a psychologist named Desmond who feels that something isn’t right. He’s seeing strange manifestations that distort the world.
His former patients exhibited the same symptoms. In order to uncover the truth, he begins to review the audio from the treatment sessions with those now deceased patients. Instead of providing a sense of calm, that same audio warps his perception and causes him to see some wild views.
You can see his first-person view in the trailer, but you can also play the demo of the first chapter on Steam. It won’t be as good as playing on the PS5, but you can try the demo today. The full game won’t be available until sometime in 2021, but it’s never too early to start planning to play new scary games.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
