A job advert has appeared online that seems to suggest new consoles are not that far away. A job advert posted over on the Infinity Ward LinkedIn page makes note that they are looking to hire people to work on a next-gen game. An unannounced next-gen game. Call of Duty 2019, duh.
Call of Duty games are handled by several studios now, and next year will be Infinity Ward’s turn to release a new entry in the popular franchise. So it stands to reason, then, that if the developer is hiring for its next game, which also happens to be a next-gen games, the next-gen consoles should be here next year.
However… I’m sceptical. It could be that the game will release next year on current-gen consoles, and then be re-released alongside the new consoles the year after. For the time being it’s best to not get too hyped up for anything.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
