Playdead’s critically acclaimed platformers, Inside and Limbo, are heading out to the big, scary world of retail this week. While it may be a dark and daunting place on those dusty store shelves, at least they’ll be making the journey as part of a double-pack bundle, thanks to Playdead teaming up with prolific publisher, 505 Games.
Here’s where things get a little complicated: release dates and regions. At the time of writing, the double pack is available right now in North America at various retailers. The game’s also released today, September 14th, in Oceans, Germany and Austria. The rest of Europe will get the bundle on September 15th. A little bit off an odd schedule, but these are odd games so it’s fitting.
Those who splash out for the special edition will get the full games (duh) as well as the collector’s items that include a limited run poster and an art card. Fair enough if you’re a massive fan, then.
If you don’t already know it, Limbo and Inside were both lauded with buckets of praise when they originally released on last-generation consoles. They’re pretty good, basically, and that’s why they’re soon to be sitting on a store shelf near you.
We sometimes link to online retail stores. If you buy something from our links, we may make a small commission which goes towards keeping the lights on and coffee in the pot.
