You’d be hard pushed to find someone who’s played Judgment and didn’t like it. In fact, it’s been heralded the game of the year thus far. It could easily keep that momentum going into the Autumn, and win itself a gong or two when awards season comes around. But the public aren’t the only ones who are thrilled with the game.
In fact, Daisuke Sato suggests this isn’t a standalone title.
The producer of the Yakuza series recently gave an interview to a Spanish news site where he expressed the team’s delight in how well received Judgment was with the gaming community. So much so, it has beaten the targets they set for it and they’re looking at the possibility of a second, third and umpteenth release.
In other words, it could be the new Yakuza. Or at least hold its own alongside its inspiration.
“From our point of view, Judgment’s performance in the west has surpassed our expectations, they’re very good.
“Us, as a team, would like to keep working in more games in the Judgment series”
Unsurprisingly, this news went down well with fans who already know where they want the story to go. So if SEGA needs any guidance, there are plenty of opinions online. We’ll have to wait and see, though, whether any of us have hit the nail on the head.
