June’s PS Plus Games Are Manically Handsome
With E3 right around the corner, it’s no surprise that June’s PS Plus games relate to an upcoming sequel this year. (I bet on Dying Light, so I’ll be adding that to my backlog soon.) Starting with plenty of pew pew, we have Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. It contains remade versions of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to get you well and truly pumped to play Borderlands 3 before its September 13th release date.
Why no Borderlands 1? Who knows, but there is a rumor that Borderlands 2 will have some new DLC drop during E3 to set up the new game. For a game that focuses on weapons, damage represented in numbers exiting enemies, and crazy characters, would this be necessary? Probably not, but it would be really cool.
The second game is Sonic Mania, and it’s the Sonic game you keep hoping to play every time you buy a new Sonic game. It’s a remake of some of the Sonic levels from past games with new ideas thrown into the mix. The music is great, it plays like you remember but better, and it’s actually a good Sonic game. I cannot drive that point home enough.
The trailer is at the top, and it is a partial lie. Those are the games, but they cannot be downloaded now. You will have to wait until June 4th, but that’s only Tuesday. This month doesn’t seem bad, but you can let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
