Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 has made a lot of headlines recently, including the exciting Manchester United licencing agreement. But today another team has confirmed their involvement, though this one comes at FIFA 2020’s cost.
Juventus football club needs little introduction. Especially as it’s currently home to the one and only Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the details of their agreement does. You see, they’re joining Konami’s soccer game in an exclusive deal – unlike the Red Devils – and as a result will be missing from FIFA 2020. But it’s a little more complicated than that because the players won’t be. Bare with me here.
Juventus’ crest, name and stadium all belong to Pro Evolution Soccer 2020. The players, however, do not and will be part of FIFA 2020 due to a separate licencing agreement. As a result, Ronaldo and co will be playing for a renamed Juventus team – Piemonte Calcio, which sounds like a toothpaste brand to us.
It’s worth noting, however, that this arrangement will have zero affect on the Ultimate Team feature, whereby special items and chemistry will play out as normal.
Are you happy to have Juventus join the very exclusive Konami club? Or is there another team you’d rather see? Pass a comment our way into the box below.
