After releasing on the Switch, Katamari Damacy REROLL will be rolling onto the PS4 on November 20th. It’s a remake of the original game with fancier visuals and all the charm and soundtrack of the original. (That soundtrack is so good.) The gameplay is exactly what you remember. The King of All Cosmos knocks the stars out of the sky, and you will need to roll up items on Earth to replace them. Your rolling ball will only be able to pick up smaller items at first, but it will eventually grow to pick up much larger items such as cows. This re-release will also include a local multiplayer mode that allows you and a friend to compete to see who can roll up the biggest ball.
Bandai Namco knows 2020 has been tough for many, and the game’s Associate Brand Manager, Abelina Villegas, hopes that the game will take your mind off that for a little bit by saying:
“The Katamari Damacy series embodies pure joy and whimsy. The combination of its out-of-this-world story, colorful art style, cute characters, and delightful J-pop soundtrack, the game personifies light-hearted fun. 2020 has been a trying year and we hope the arrival of Katamari Damacy REROLL on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will deliver smiles and laughter to households around the globe.”
Gaming seems to be great for that. Katamari Damacy REROLL is taking a beloved game and making it available with some upgrades on the PS4. If you’ve never experienced it before, it’s a wacky good time, and you can roll up your own items, including cows, on November 20th.
