Kill strain is a new free-to-play, top-down, competitive shooter from Sony San Diego and is currently available to play for all PS Plus members and will be followed by all other PS4 users on the 19th of July. Competitive team games generally consist of two equally sized teams. Kill Strain, however, actually works with 3 teams, 2 teams of 5 humans and one team of 2 mutants, equating to 12 players overall.
Competitive team games generally consist of two equally sized teams. Kill Strain, however, actually works with 3 teams, 2 teams of 5 humans and one team of 2 mutants, equating to 12 players overall. This team structure is not necessarily permanent though as mutants can turn humans into mutants by dragging them into ‘the strain’, tipping the game in their favor as they build ranks. The humans are primarily there to collect resources which boost their experience points, level up their team and improve their bases defences.
Games like this are inherently reliant on the precise balancing of characters, teams, and mechanics in general so that all characters and play styles are perfectly viable in game. Over the next few days, Kill Strain will be put to the test by its players and any issues will be unveiled. For now though, if you’re a PlayStation Plus member get in and enjoy some free-to-play competitive gameplay.
