The King Of Fighters XIV Has a Release Date For Japan

SNK Playmore’s upcoming title ‘The King Of Fighters XIV’ has just had its Japan release date announced for the 25th of August 2016, you can click here to see it yourself however we would warn you it is in Japanese, though the numbers for the date are not. For anyone unfamiliar with the game it can be easily compared to the likes of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter in the sense that it is a fighting game featuring 3D characters in one-on-one battles in a 2D arena. Also to keep in mind, the screenshots posted at the bottom of this article are from the game which is not yet complete so anything seen is subject to change.

Some gameplay details have already been released, for example the ‘Hyper Drive System’ from the previous game is being replaced with the more popular ‘Max Mode’ in which for a limited period of time players can perform unlimited special moves. Furthermore players actually have 3 different types of super moves to play around with.

Check out the embedded videos below for both the currently released game and character trailers, which are full of in-game combat. More will be posted as and when it’s released.
