A new Silent Hill game? Surely not? That was my initial thought when I saw the headlines, but it does seem to be the case. There have been rumours for a while that Silent Hill could make a return, but with Konami seemingly only focusing on PES and slot machines, it hasn’t looked likely and the rumours have been dismissed by many.
However, in a strange twist, the publisher has not shot down the rumours but has actually thrown some kindling on the fires of hope. In response to PCGamesN‘s questioning, a Konami representative said:
“We cannot share anything at this point, but we are listening to customer feedback and considering ways to provide the next title.”
That’s not confirmation, but it’s also not the usual line of “we don’t comment on rumour or speculation” that publishers usually dole out to questions about games that haven’t been announced. So, a new Silent Hill game could be in the works after all. Don’t expect it for a while, though, and even then, expect it to be a PS5 game, or at the very least a cross-gen release with PS4 and PS5.
