There’s nothing official as of yet, but it looks like us PSVR players will be getting treated to Rockstar Games’ first VR game with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, if an age rating is to be believed.
The PEGI ratings board has rated the game for a PSVR release, suggesting we’ll be solving murder mysteries sooner rather than later. The ratings boards don’t tend to rate games that don’t exist, so it’s a safe bet to say that this one is definitely coming soon.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files originally launched for PC virtual reality headsets way back in December, 2017, where it was received quite well. According to a few user reviews I’ve skimmed over on Steam, it’s a little on the short side and the cases aren’t brand new, but are instead adapted from the original game. So if you’ve already played and beat L.A. Noire, you won’t struggle to find the solutions. That said, plenty of players have praised the immersion that being in VR provides, so hopefully it’ll be a worthwhile experience once it finally releases on PSVR.
There’s no official word from Rockstar or its parent company, Take Two, on the game’s release, but I reckon an announcement won’t be far off in the future. Gamescom, perhaps? We’ll see. Until then, get practicing your best impression of detective Cole Phelps so you can scream at witnesses in VR.
