In a new trailer, Sega associate localization producer, Scott Strichart, tells us more about the game and its two protagonist plot structure. For Kazuma Kiryu, he is new to being a yakuza, and is more stoic. This will be the first time gamers will be able to play as the more eccentric Goro Majima, a man who would give his left eye to be back in the yakuza. (Bad jokes are all we have.)
The game is set in Japan in 1988, and it looks like it could be the Japanese game version of the movie Goodfellas mixed with Wall Street. (We mean the original Wall Street, not the garbage sequel starring Shia LaBeouf.) Money is everywhere, and it controls everything. That seems like the perfect environment for a couple of guys looking to climb a criminal ladder.
The game releases on January 24th, 2017, and you can check out the trailer for more info. One more thing, does the music seem a little…not quite what you might expect when they pause on his name and title? Let us know in the comments if you thought you were accidentally watching something else when the trailer pauses with his name at the beginning.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
