For the first time ever, parents may tell their kids to put down their Legos, so they can play with their Legos. Lego Worlds is heading out of Steam Early Access and onto the PS4 on February 24, 2017. It has some Minecraftian elements, such as the ability to build whatever you want out of blocks, but this is Lego, baby! Players will be able to use vehicles to move around, and the trailer shows a character riding a giant bird among other interesting modes of transportation.
The game will not have a story, but it does look like it will retain some of the charm from previous titles. You will also have the ability to share your world with others who can help you build, either in splitscreen or online. We appreciate games with the increasingly rare local co-op.
We cannot wait to see what people will build in Lego Worlds along with the YouTube videos that will accompany these amazing creations. We also fully expect for daddy parts to be built within the first week of the game’s launch. C’est la vie.
This will still be the cheapest way to buy this many Legos at one time. Will this be enough to pull you away from the time sink that is Minecraft?
We sometimes link to online retail stores. If you buy something from our links, we may make a small commission which goes towards keeping the lights on and coffee in the pot.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
