Before now, we’ve assumed – and Bethesda hasn’t done anything to make us think otherwise – that DOOM VFR will only use the PS Move controllers or a regular DualShock 4. Couple that with what Bethesda has said about movement in the game being teleportation-based rather than free-movement, and you’ve got yourself a bag full of assumption.
However, we may be able to use more than just the ancient wands in DOOM VFR. The game’s page on the PlayStation Network notes that the game is “enhanced” with the use of a PlayStation Aim controller. As far as we’re aware, the developer behind the game hasn’t officially confirmed this. As that’s the case, we’re going to take it with a pinch of the old salt and wait for official confirmation before we get too excited. Oh, who are kidding, we can’t contain ourselves – DOOM with PSVR Aim! Whoop!
DOOM VFR is set to release later this year on PS4/PSVR, though there is no official release date as of yet. [Correction: December 1st!] You can, however, still place your pre-order for the physical version of the game on Amazon.
Thanks, Matt Aces.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
