French-Bread and Delightworks will be releasing the anime 2D fighter Melty Blood: Type Lumina worldwide on September 30th for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina is a bloodthirsty 2D fighting game centred on the TYPE MOON’s visual romance novel Tsukhime. The upcoming game could be considered as a reboot to the 2002 fighter Melty Blood. The storyline will follow Tsukihime-A piece of blue glass moon, a remake of the original novel, and explore other characters’ routes and narratives. The game will feature a cast of over ten characters, with their own unique attacks to utilize in battle.
The battle system has been built to try and give it a modern vibe while keeping the Melty Blood-fighting spirit alive. The system uses a powerful combination of attacks known as rapid beats that can be executed by repeatedly pressing the attack button.
This could be beneficial for players who are not familiar with the franchise or fighting games as a whole. Thus, you can enjoy the high adrenaline combat without being overwhelmed by complex button inputs. Hopefully, this will allow players to get down to the good old business of destroying opponents with blistering attacks whilst introducing them to the universe.
Each character will also have their own story, which can be entered via the single-player campaign. The game will also offer several modes to clash in, with a training mode to home your skills, a versus mode to beat up CPU’s and a network mode to battle other players online for supremacy.
If you purchase the game before October 27th, you’ll have access to ‘Arcueid Round Announcements’ content. This bonus content will be available to download for free, regardless if you buy the standard or deluxe edition of the game. After that period, the only way to get the ‘Arcueid Round Announcements’ will be to pay for it separately as paid DLC content.
We’ve also been treated to several character trailers, with the latest one focusing on Akiha Tohno. The trailer showcases Akiha Tohno slowly wearing down their opponents with numerous special moves and then attacking them with powerful range attacks. Other recent gameplay characters trailers include Ceil, Kouma Kishima and Arcueid Brunestud.
Will you be getting your blood pumping with Melty Blood: Type Lumina?
