Mojang has released yet another update for Minecraft on PS4, and again, there are some specific fixes for Minecraft VR on PSVR.
After the release of Minecraft VR for PSVR, there have been some teething problems with players reporting that they’re unable to get into the game, or when they do boot up Minecraft VR, they just get a black screen, and others have reported the game crashing on them.
The latest update aims to bring a bit more stability to Minecraft VR, with update version 2.16 specifically noting improvements for the game’s VR mode. The patch notes are below.
Minecraft Update 2.16 Patch Notes
- Fixed additional crashes when signing into a Microsoft account (MCPE-100881)
- Fixed an issue where launching PS VR with Supersampling enabled caused crashes in VR Mode
The update is available now. If the update hasn’t already automatically downloaded and installed, you can kick-start the process by going to the game’s icon, pressing the ‘options’ button and then going down to ‘check for update’. If the update isn’t already installed, this will get your console to “search” for the update and begin downloading it.
I recently went face-first into Minecraft VR and found it to be absolutely brilliant. You can read my Minecraft VR PSVR review or watch the video review up above.
