There’s a new update out today for Minecraft on PS4, and it’s version 2.15. It’s a fairly small download, but it has had a big effect, especially for Minecraft VR players.
The Minecraft 2.15 update’s patch notes state that the update is for minor bug and crash fixes, but, there’s a little more to it for those who have been trying to play Minecraft VR, which released this week as a free update for the game.
Many Minecraft VR players have complained of black screen errors and crashing before they can even get into the game. This is a problem myself and Charlie encountered a couple of times while crafting our Minecraft VR review.
Players are now reporting that they’re able to get into Minecraft VR with minimal fuss, and this is something we’ve since tested today. Out of 10 occasions starting the game up, the game entered VR mode 10 times without issue.
So, if you’re getting stuck on a black screen or crashing when starting Minecraft on PSVR, make sure you’ve got the latest update installed. If you’re not sure that you have the latest update, simply head over to the game’s icon, hit the ‘options’ button and then select ‘check for update’.
