The arty story-driven puzzle-platformer Minute of Islands won’t be making its release date after all – the game has been delayed on all platforms.
Mixtvision and Studio Fizbin have announced that Minute of Islands, which was originally due to release on March 8th, 2021, has been postponed.
The reason for the delay is that the game has some “major technical issues” that cropped up during the latest round of internal testing.
“We can’t wait to see our game out in the wild”, says Anjin Anhut, Game Director at Studio Fizbin, “but we want to ensure that everyone can enjoy it in the best possible condition. We hope players will soon be able to follow in our protagonist Mo’s footsteps across the vivid world of Minute of Islands and find out for themselves what makes the game so special.”
“While we very much regret having to push Minute of Islands’ release date, we are convinced that the extra time invested is in the players’ best interest. We are looking forward to releasing a unique game that combines stunning art direction with emotional storytelling to a long-lasting experience,” says Benjamin Feld, Publishing Director at Mixtvision.
While it’s definitely a shame that the game won’t be hitting its original release date, it’s much better to release a functional game rather than push out a half-broken mess and rely on day-one updates to fix it.
When Minute of Islands does eventually release, it will come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC/Mac.
