Sony has announced today on the PlayStation Blog that MLB The Show 20 will be hosting a tournament this month with a total prize worth $25,000, and that there will be weekly digital rewards and MLB merchandise packages for top players.
The tournament is open to players in the US and Canada, and you must be over the age of 18 to take part. Though, if your 12-year old sibling is a beast at the game, what’s to stop the controller falling into their hands for a few minutes…
Here are the details from Sony:
- The first qualifier begins June 20, and the last one is August 1.
- Participants will compete in a Swiss tournament system through the qualifier rounds. The Top 8 finishers in each weekly tournament qualify directly for the final.
- The Grand Final will be a seeded bracket determined by season-wide points and finishes throughout the tournament.
You will also need an active PS Plus subscription to compete, and you can find more information on all PS4 tournaments, including MLB The Show 20 tournament, via the official website.
