Pulling spines from bodies is what I had planned for this weekend, but without any willing victims, I’ll struggle to fulfil my murderous desires. Thankfully, Warner Bros has stepped in with a solution that is far cleaner and a whole lot more legal than what I had in mind – a free weekend trial of Mortal Kombat 11 on PS4. Fair play, Waner Bros, for keeping me out of the klink a little longer.
For those of you who have yet to sample the gruesome finishers in Mortal Kombat 11, you’ll have four days to sample the goods, courtesy of the free weekend trial that Warner Bros is throwing. It starts today and runs through until October 14th, so you’ll have plenty of time to full hearts from chests, spines from bodies, and maybe a combo or two.
The Mortal Kombat 11 free weekend includes two chapters from the game’s story mode, as well as the full multiplayer suite and every playable character available in the base game, along with a preview of the Kombat Pack fighters. What’s more, is that any progress you make in the free trial will carry over to the full game if you end up making a purchase. However, to get the most out of the free trial weekend you’ll need to have PlayStation Plus to play the online multiplayer modes, though it is not required for the single-player chapters.
The Mortal Kombat 11 free trial should be available to download on the PlayStation Store right now in just about every region, so go ahead and have a messy weekend.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
