Multiplayer Is Free in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare This Weekend

We’ve seen a few of these in recent months. But Call of Duty are once again treating us to a free weekend of multiplayer action. This time it is to mark the launch of its fifth season of content. But even if they are trying to grab a few more buyers, we don’t care. It’s free Call of Duty with your friends – what’s not to like?!?

In total five maps and four game modes will be made publicly available from tonight (Friday – August 7th – at 18:00 BST). And will run until next Wednesday, 12th of August, coming to a close at 18:00 BST once again. You do have to be a Warzone player to take advantage of the deal, but as that is free to play, it’s hardly a costly prerequisite. So, it’s a free weekend of Call of Duty for literally nothing.

I mean, when does nothing actually mean nothing?

If you take the team up on their offer, you’ll be able to explore two maps that are brand new in Season Five – these being Suldal Harbur and Petrov Oil Rig. And as they’re newcomers to the game, your more experienced friends won’t have such an upper hand. I’m not promising you master kill streaks, but you may bring something more to the table than mere fodder.

Otherwise, Cheshire Park, Shoot House and Shipment will also be available – just in case you prefer familiar ground. And Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint form the selection of game modes.
