NERF: Legends Aims for PS4, PS5 This October

Pre-orders open now.

NERF: Legends, based on the beloved NERF toy guns, has been announced for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game will be releasing later this year in October, though a specific date has not yet been announced.

Players will be transported to a futuristic sci-fi setting with a very Fortnite-like aesthetic as they face off against a robot army. A full arsenal of NERF blasters will be available to choose from including The Judge, Mega-Centurion, and the ELITE 2.0 Shockwave. Nerf Blasters are fully customizable with unique skins to unlock and players will also have the opportunity to create their own custom character.

NERF: Legends is described as a family-friendly title and an alternative to mainstream shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield and it sets itself apart with gameplay that focuses on pulling off elaborate trick shots against other players and enemies.

Players will have access to a solo campaign that takes place across 19 unique sci-fi environments while battling an onslaught of enemies and taking on challenges and difficult boss battles. There are also plenty of power-ups to be discovered along the way like seeker darts, magnetic pull darts, and more which can turn the tide in battle.

Online multiplayer will be available for up to 8 players in the form of 4v4 team matches or eight-player free for all matches. Cross-play will also be supported and available on all supported consoles.

It might be rather difficult for NERF: Legends to reach any sort of mass appeal especially with the calibre of high-quality shooters out there, but it might be worth picking up if there are any younglings in your house.
