If you got giddy at the thought of customising Kratos’ new hipster beard in online battles, think again. Kratos’ latest outing – and his first true next-gen game – will not have any multiplayer, according to the developers.
Cory Balrog of Sony Santa Monica, the studio behind the new God of War on PS4, spoke with Level Up and mentioned that the team will be focussing on the single-player experience and so they won’t be including a multiplayer part to the game.
It’s a shame, really, as Ascension’s multiplayer was actually not that bad, despite our initial misgivings, but perhaps this is for the best; Sony Santa Monica is taking Kratos in a brand new direction, so all efforts need to be focussed on getting the core right, or at least that’s what we think.
Are you disappointed that the first next-gen God of War won’t have multiplayer, or are you glad the studio is focussing on the single-player story? Give us a shout down in the comments section below.
