A tease of what’s to come in Rainbow Six: Extraction.
Containment takes place in a quarantined version of the consulate map which has been overrun by an outbreak of the Chimera Parasite pitting players against each other in the new game mode, Nest Destruction.
Players will be split into two teams of attackers and defenders, the attackers are the REACT team featured in Rainbow Six Extraction and aim to either destroy the nest to unlock a final objective or wipe out the team of defenders. As the name implies Defenders will attempt to prevent attackers and will take on the role of shape-shifting aliens who mimic the react team but are limited to melee attacks.
Containment will also have its own collection of 33 unique items for siege operators which include weapon skins, headgear, and uniforms. Rainbow Six Siege is also free to play from August 13th to August 15th and twice as many battle points will be up for grabs during this period. It’s a pretty sweet offer and it’s the ideal opportunity to pick up Rainbow Six Seige to try out the newest expansion and get yourself prepped and ready for Extraction.
Rainbow Six Extraction was initially set to release on September 16th, 2021 but will now release in January 2022 following an announcement from Ubisoft.
