State of Play is PlayStation’s newer way to disseminate it’s announcements, trailers, and gaming goodness to the masses without having to wait for a specific event or location. We have a big one coming up on Tuesday, September 24th at 1:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. ET), and it’s bound to have some fun and surprises. If you were hoping for PS5 news or next gen anything, you can leave those hopes and dreams at the door.
Details are limited, but we do have some info. The presentation will last for around 20 minutes and will have “a new look”. This may be a reaction to some of the criticism they received after the last one, but I thought what they were doing was fine. I don’t want them to inject artificial time wasters into this thing for style. I’ll take a “Just the facts, ma’am” presentation over that any day.
As for what they will show, Sony is being tight-lipped, but we have the following tantalizing message:
“And we’ll have some great news to share with you, including new game reveals, new content from PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios, and a host of other updates. Should be fun!”
New game reveals and content from PlayStation Worldwide Studios should be very interesting. Other updates may include release dates for some known games, perhaps? We’ll know this Tuesday, and you can watch the whole presentation on Twitch, Facebook, or YouTube.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
