Has a recent RPG let you down? A new trailer released today for Tales of Berseria, and it is a doozy. With a run time around 4.5 minutes, it showcases the game’s vibrant anime cutscenes and shows a little more in-game footage too.
There is a brief explanation of the story, and we see more of the motivations of the protagonist, Velvet Crowe. That is good, but the trailer’s true strength is how it makes everything from the character’s voices to the soaring orchestral score in the background deliciously dramatic. That is great forĀ us. Some of us want our melodrama, and Tales of Berseria will wrap that in a revenge story. Yum. Yum. Yum.
It looks like 2017 is going to be a great year for RPGs of the Japanese and Western varieties, and Tales of Berseria will get us started on January 24th. Let us know in the comments if you enjoy angst in your RPGs as much as we do.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
