The series known as Ni no Kuni, or crying simulator, has received a new gameplay trailer by way of the developer’s Youtube channel. The minute and a half long footage showcases some impressively improved graphics for the sequel, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. In particular to the open world exploration where the setting is more realistic this time around instead of a cartoon design. The combat system is also on display and familiars are still around to save to the day. Although in the video they take the form of small candlelights? Either way the battles will feature equal parts magic and combat with our new heroes. Check how they take out that boss fight yourselves in the trailer above.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is being developed by Level-5 and will drop sometime in 2017 for the PlayStation 4. The predecessor, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch received universal acclaim back when it released in 2010 for the PS3. It may have made grown men cry as well. If you tell us what part of the original game’s story made you sob tears in the comments, we’ll return the favor.
