You may have read elsewhere on the internet that Kojima Productions’ PS4 exclusive Death Stranding has had its release date leaked by online retailer Amazon. You might have seen the March 29th, 2019 release date and gotten a little bit excited. Even more so when you realise that Amazon is listing both Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 to release on the exact same day – a Friday, no less. Imagine your luck, right? Two great games on one day? How often does that happen?
These are just placeholder dates that Amazon uses when they don’t know the exact release date. March 29th is the last day of the financial year for many companies, so there’s your first clue. The second clue is that it’s releasing on a Friday – most game release on Tuesday’s. And the third clue? The Last of Us: Part 2 is also listed to release on the same day. Do you really think Sony would send two of its most anticipated titles out on the same day, each fighting with the other for the cash of gamers? No. Not in a million years.
Forget it, move on, and don’t read into these things too much. Not unless we tell you otherwise, at least.
