When will people learn, eh? There are stories floating around the internet today that Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 will be releasing on March 29th, 2019, all because Amazon Italy has that date attached to the game’s product page. Trust me when I say that March 29th, 2019 isn’t the release date.
For those not in the know, this is a placeholder date. March 29th, 2019, is the last business day for Q1 2019 – the first quarter of the financial year. It’s common for games to get placeholder release dates that fall on the last business days of the financial quarter, and this is no different. Plus, do you really think that Sony would release a game in three months time without there being any kind of marketing in place right now? Not a chance.
So the lesson here is to not believe everything you read on the internet, unless it’s from our (mostly) trustful mouths. Hey, we get things wrong sometimes. We’re (mostly) humans, after all.
