Otakus Save the World in ROBOTICS;NOTES DOUBLE PACK Coming October 13th

UPDATE: Spike Chunsoft livestreamed info tonight about the game. I have added that video at the bottom.

As the world becomes steadily smaller, we have a chance to play games that never came to our part of the world. The ROBOTICS;NOTES DOUBLE PACK is one of those games. The visual novel created by Spike Chunsoft is set in the same world as the Steins;Gate series. As one of the last two members of the Central Tanegashima High Robot Club, Kaito Yashio and the club leader Akiho Senomiya are working to finish building a robot before their club is shut down. As if high school wasn’t tough enough, Kaito finds the Kimijima Report that reveals a scheme that threatens the entire world.

While everyone’s thoughts are turned toward the upcoming Summer Festival, Kaito is introduced to Itaru Hashida, the “super hacker” from Steins;Gate. He claims he’s touring the island, but he acts weird about it. Both he and Kaito will work to try to solve the crazy conspiracy and, hopefully, save the world.

The double pack in the name refers to the inclusion of both ROBOTICS;NOTES and ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH. The second game’s subtitle is likely referring to Hashida’s nickname as “Daru the Super Hacker”. Together, both games will pack more than 60 hours of content with branching storylines to keep revealing all the exciting events of the Robot Club.

Buying the Day One Edition of the game will give you four exclusive pins of characters from the game. I have a screenshot of those as well as many other screenshots of the game at the bottom. To see it in action, check out the trailer at the top.

This is the first time the ROBOTICS games are coming West. Although not as old as some of its previous remastered releases, Spike Chunsoft does a decent job updating everything, and the animation sequences in the trailer are nice. I’ll be looking forward to another trip to the Steins;Gate universe and unraveling a tangled web of conspiracies when the game launches on October 13th.
