The latest instalment in the popular Tropico series has released today on PS4 and Xbox One after having had a successful release on PC, and then a preview period on the Xbox One. To celebrate the game’s release today, Limbic Entertainment and Kalypso Media have put together a flashy bit of propaganda that you can watch up above.
Tropico 6 is available to buy now via digital storefronts as well as actual stores. Those who opt for the physical release at retail will get four Tropican postcards, a digital soundtrack and a calendar, all for the usual retail price. How nifty, eh?
The is a more expensive edition of the game, the ‘El Prez’ edition, which costs a fiver more than the regular edition. For your extra pennies you’ll get an extra decoration for you palace as well as some tourist-themed outfits for your Presidente. You know, so you can make him look like a man of the people… while the people starve.
Just like previous Tropico games on console, Tropico 6 has been optimised for controller gameplay. I’m nearing the end of my review so you’ll be able to check my thoughts out fully soon, but I will say that the controls are a definite highlight for this release. No problems in that department.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
