Sony seem to have started a trend by offering free games during this pandemic because Bandai Namco have just gone and done the same. The big name in the industry is making Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 free for the next few weeks. So, go grab yourself a copy (and a few pills at the same time).
There have been similar rumours for the last few days after the game was noted by eager-eyed players as being free to download. But the inviting offer was quickly removed from sale without explanation. Now it’s back up and live, so everyone can take advantage of the offer (it ends May 10th) whilst the company themselves also spread the news via their social media accounts. You can read the tweet below.
As I mentioned at the start of this article, Sony were the first to offer a goodwill gesture. That’s because they started to offer Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for free via the PlayStation Store. But with Bandai Namco following suit, maybe we’ll see a few more publishers/IP holders doing their bit, too. After all, we’re all twiddling our thumbs as it is so we might as well use them to twiddle some joysticks at the same time. Then we can feel as if we’re being productive.
If Square Enix are reading, the Final Fantasy VII Remake would be nice…
We’re asking fans to do their part and have #MoreFunForEveryone – at home!
To lend a ✋, we’re sending our goodwill ambassador, PAC-MAN, into every ? by making PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 free from 4/24 – 5/10! pic.twitter.com/pSnrPIEK2t
