General Manager, Aaryn Flynn, has posted an update from Bioware on the status of Mass Effect Andromeda and the ways they are going to make the game better in the future. Patch 1.05 will be available on April 6th. Along with the usual bug smashing, it will also be adding some quality improvements as well.
The patch will let you skip the transition between planets, fix some lip syncing issues, and make Ryder look a little more normal when he runs in a Z pattern. They will also improve the eyes of human and alien characters, so we should have fewer of the dead eye conversations.
In future updates, Bioware promises to continue to make more improvements to the animations, character creator, and offer more male romance choices for Scott Ryder, who we have affectionately dubbed, “Guyder”.
Mass Effect Andromeda has not had a smooth launch. Even before it was widely available, a trickle of memes showcasing the game’s strange animations, dialogue, and technical errors began to cast doubt on one of the most anticipated titles of the year. After the release, the game has been widely criticized for the same problems.
Patch 1.05 is a step in the right direction, and we hope that one of our favorite series is not permanently damaged by the initial reception. If nothing else, this is an opportunity to help make future Mass Effect games better.
With the improvements in the full patch notes, you may want to see if the new PS Plus games for this month can keep you busy for a few days, before you go back to saving the galaxy.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
