PixelJunk Monsters 2, the follow-up to the insanely overlooked PixelJunk Monsters, was announced late last month. This got some of us here at Pure PlayStation very excited. Very excited indeed. Alright, it was just this writer, but whatever.
PixelJunk Monsters 2 was announced for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC with a release date of May 25th attached. It seems like such a long way away, right? Worry not, as you’ll be able to get your hands on the new Tikiman much sooner.
Spike Chunsoft, the game’s publisher, announced that there will be a free demo for all platforms on April 27th. On this date you’ll able to go to the PlayStation Store, eShop, or Steam, and then download the demo build of the game.
We’re big fans of publishers releasing free demos that aren’t dressed up as “betas” that end up locked behind a pre-order, so kudos to Spike Chunsoft on this one. It also gives us, the players, a bit of confidence in the game, because would the publisher release a demo for a bad game? Well, er, sometimes, yeah, but these days it’s very rare, so we’re optimistic in this case.
We sometimes link to online retail stores. If you buy something from our links, we may make a small commission which goes towards keeping the lights on and coffee in the pot.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
